The Wingfield River has 4 dams built across itself: 3 of them are not used except to control the flow of water down the river. This was near one of the dams.

Caribelle Batik produced its first batik in 1974
The great house was renamed Romney Manor following its acquisition in the early 17th century by the Earl of Romney. The saman tree is 350 years old, 24 ft in diameter and covering ½ an acre.
